Early Years Foundation Stage and Pingu’s English

The demand for high-quality education is surging worldwide, with an increasing number of parents seeking a top-tier international kindergarten curriculum to provide their children with the essential foundation they deserve for a successful future.
Pingu’s English International Kindergarten adheres to the Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYSF) and boasts the following features:
– 6 learning hours of activities per day, with flexibility to accommodate snack, lunch, and rest times to suit diverse cultural contexts.
– 5 learning days per week.
– 3 weeks dedicated to each topic thread.
– A comprehensive 3-year curriculum for teaching and student content, comprising 36 weeks of instruction per year.
Designed for children aged 3 to 6 years, Pingu’s English International Kindergarten offers a full-time program aimed at preparing children for formal schooling and fostering early bilingualism in English—a vital skillset for academic and lifelong success.
The program focuses on developing fundamental creative and learning abilities in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension in English, while also cultivating academic proficiencies such as mathematics, as well as broader skills including teamwork and communication to equip children for their educational journey.
In addition to English language instruction, our diverse curriculum encompasses Mathematics, Art, Literacy, and STEM subjects. Children engage in storytelling, role-playing, and activities aimed at building confidence and social skills.
Embedded within our unique International Kindergarten curriculum is our first-class English Language program and the Pingu’s English Logical Phonics system. Together, these components ensure that our curriculum stands at the forefront of the industry, offering engaging learning experiences and delivering tangible outcomes for children worldwide.
Pingu’s English International Curriculum
Pingu’s English, in collaboration with Kingston University London, has delineated six fundamental curriculum ‘strands’ forming the backbone of the educational framework. These strands constitute the basis for children’s learning within an exclusively English-speaking environment. The curriculum encompasses:
1. Communication, Language, Literacy, Reading, Writing, and Spelling
2. Physical Development
3. Personal, Social, Emotional, Health, Well-being, and Cultural Diversity
4. Numeracy, Shape, Space, and Measurement
5. The World and Us
6. Expressive and Creative Arts
Additionally, Pingu’s English has devised 12 topic ‘threads’ that serve as the blueprint for the curriculum. These threads cover a range of subjects including Custom, Family and Friends, Belongings, Food, Home Life, Number, Actions, Reactions, Consequences, Colors, Shapes, and others.
Given that fostering early bilingualism is a primary objective, our established International Kindergarten curriculum is predominantly delivered in English. However, recognizing that children in this age group are still honing their communication skills in their native language, our qualified kindergarten staff naturally provide some non-English support.
Moreover, our International Kindergarten program offers flexibility to accommodate market-specific requisites. For example, if mandated by the Ministry of Education in a particular market, provisions such as local language instruction or religious education can be seamlessly integrated into the curriculum.
Student Resources
In addition to providing thorough and stimulating guidance for educators to facilitate captivating lessons, our International Kindergarten curriculum offers high-quality learning materials tailored for each student’s use both in the classroom and at home.
Included in the student resources are:
– 3 levels of Pingu’s English Student Pack, comprising 36 Thread books/Activity Books.
- 3 Levels of our Pingu’s English Language pack (including a student pack of our English enrichment program).
- Audio Visual Program (songs, videos and stories).
- Online learning zone with activities, games and tests.
- Pingu’s English logical phonics & supporting phonics cards
Pingu’s English introduces a groundbreaking phonics method that integrates the most effective aspects of analytical, episodic, and synthetic teaching methodologies from various educational systems worldwide.
This innovative approach has demonstrated remarkable efficacy on an international level, as it immerses children in complete words and phrases, initiating the development of English communication skills from their initial lesson at a Pingu’s English institution.
By engaging in playful activities, consistent practice, and frequent repetition both within the classroom and at home, children swiftly acquire familiarity with and confidence in all English phonetic sounds.
